Balancer to carry and compensate the weight of the Hofmann Hand Tufting Gun.

Adjustable Spring Balancer to support the weight of the Hofmann Hand Tufting gun whilst allowing free movement both vertically and horizontally. The sideways free movement is achieved because the Balancer itself is suspended from a carriage that runs in a rail or channel such that very little effort is required to move from side to side within the length of the rails The rails are 1.5 metre in length and can be joined to create a continuous running channel of any length. The up and down movement is balanced by a coiled spring built into the balancer with a wire rope that freely coils into it to enable effortless up and down movement. This spring can be adjusted to perfectly compensate for the weight of the hand tufting gun, allowing it to float and stay still wherever to is left. The complete system incorporating the balancer into a hand tufting frame is illustrated below.
