When a process demands that continuous lengths of fabric or material are run through a machine, it involves joining and sewing across the width of the fabric. This machines are built to join a range of widths up to 5 metre.
These models are used for highly qualitative fringing of carpets, shawls and house linen in cut or loop with 1 thread, or 1-thread decorative overedging of carpets and blankets.
Carpet Tape Binding
Carpet Tape Binding is a process of wrapping a tape round the edge of carpets, rugs, mats and runners to protect from fraying or unravelling. Tape can vary in width and folders made to suit a particular tape width and pile depth.
Overedging / Whipping
Often referred to as Whipping in the UK and Serging in the States, overedging is a process of wrapping a yarn round the edge of carpets, rugs, runners and mats to prevent fraying and create a clean edge and finish. Carpet remnants and off cuts can be converted and recycled into useable mats and runners. In applications where carpets need to be capable of being removed such as car mats, caravans, campers, yachts and boats, then overedging prevents fraying and unravelling.
