Carving

Carving is the process of cutting a groove into carpet pile to create a three dimensional effect. The Hofmann carver is an air motor driven machine with oscillating comb like blades with a standard 40 mm cutting width. To cut a “V” shaped line the carver is passed twice along the line with the blade at an angle. The carver can have optional fibre and dust removal attachment for connection to a separate vacuum. Also can be fitted to a guide plate for a more controlled and precise operation.
